The Madagascar Green Community Project has been delivering powerful results since we began our work in 2009. Our goal is to alleviate poverty through ecofriendly initiatives in Madagascar such as:

  • Solar cooking
  • Selling fuel-efficient cookers
  • Producing biochar (Green Charcoal)
  • Community Garden
  • Environmental Education

The following video was made in Madagascar for the Green Community Project:

This video concerns our work in 2011:

Rachelle Rasolofo Czerwinski, the driving force behind Madagascar Green Community was born in Madagascar and was educated in Madagascar,   France and Canada.  Rachelle is fluent in French, English, Malagasy, and to some extent Italian and German. She also understands some Russian,  Italian, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Arabic having lived in Russia, China, Egypt and Italy.

She cares about environmental as well as social justice.

Rachelle does not do this alone. She is thankful to  a team of dedicated volunteers, to assist her with this important work:

Her board members:

-Vice-President: Vivian Davidson, activist, athlete, actress (the 3 A’s!)

-Treasurer: Bruno Andrianarijaona, Chartered Accountant

-Secretary: Susan Tanco, lawyer-

-Adam Romanowski: US representative- Fundraising

-Johanna Harvel:  Digital Communication

And many others who help at events and  support the project financially.

Madagascar Green Community Society does not receive any financial support from the government and relies solely on private donations.

Rachelle’s Personal Motto:  Take care of the Earth, there is no Planet B; take care of yourself, there is no other YOU either.
